About me

I spent nearly three decades at Microsoft, where I led teams, built products, and eventually served as a Corporate Vice President. My work ranged from developing Outlook and launching Bing to leading AI efforts like Cortana and later helping shape the company’s sustainability strategy.

Through it all, the part I loved most was coaching others—helping people grow, solve hard problems, and navigate meaningful transitions.

Now, as a certified coach (ICF and iPEC), I work directly with individuals and groups to support clarity, change, and growth. My approach is grounded in curiosity and honesty. I believe the right questions can lead us to better paths forward.

As someone who has been a hands-on developer, as well as an engineering manager and product manager, I find I’m especially useful to people in the tech industry who perhaps are trying to break into the next level (whatever that might be).  I have had great success helping clients with ambiguous feedback from managers and peers.  Oftentimes I have been asked to help people navigate “what’s next” whether a new job or a new attitude. Lastly, I’ve helped managers and individual contributors with new responsibilities launch themselves confidently into an unknown area.

I grew up in Massachusetts, studied Computer Science at Harvard, and have called Seattle home since 1993.  I’m married and have two children, two dogs and also enjoy cycling!
